In Phase One of updating this historic 1970s home in the East Oak Hill area of southwest Austin, we addressed key structural challenges and refreshed the first floor with new engineered hardwood flooring throughout, anchored by a fluted Carrara marble fireplace. One of the bathrooms was also reimagined as a playful, immersive space designed to bring a sense of daily delight to a busy family home.

The homeowners are busy parents of three, both working as CRNAs, and approached the renovation with a clear long-term vision. As the project is being completed in thoughtful phases, our role in this first stage was to define what should be prioritized now versus what could be reserved for future renovations. Each decision was made to ensure the work completed today would integrate seamlessly with the larger remodel planned for later, avoiding unnecessary rework or compromise.

Originally featured in the 1975 Parade of Homes, this residence once took center stage for its architectural character and forward-thinking design. As stewards of its next chapter, we continue to update the home with the same level of care, restraint, and intention it has always deserved.
