ABOUT ALIX
I’ve always believed that good design begins with how we live—not just how a space looks, but how it supports us, invites us in, and reflects what we value.
My love for design runs deep. I grew up watching my late father, a furniture designer in New York, create custom pieces that were clever, functional, and full of character—like TV cabinets with disappearing doors, headboards with hidden compartments, and furniture with special finishes that made each piece feel one-of-a-kind. He made furniture that met real needs, often before people could articulate them. That early exposure shaped the way I see the world: through the lens of creativity, comfort, and quiet innovation.
From my mom, a yoga therapist and longtime entrepreneur, I learned how space can support wellness—how thoughtful design can regulate the nervous system, create flow, and invite presence. Together, their influences planted the seed for my approach: homes that feel as good as they look.
Later in college, I was introduced to the phrase “form follows function”—coined by Louis Sullivan and echoed by Frank Lloyd Wright—but it didn’t fully click until I experienced it firsthand. While working under a former boss in New York who had arthritis in his hands, I saw how meaningful design becomes when it's rooted in lived experience. He didn’t like the feeling of tucking sheets into wooden bed frames, so we always designed or sourced beds with soft upholstered side rails. That kind of thoughtful detail made all the difference—and it stuck with me.
Today, I create homes that blend aesthetic integrity with real-life utility. Homes that support slow mornings and lively gatherings. That elevate everyday rituals while honoring each client’s individuality. My style is collected, layered, and warm—effortless but intentional, with personality at the center. Every project is a unique journey to reflect the essence of the people who live there.
That might look like a steam shower to wind down, a cleverly integrated appliance garage, or a layout—and furniture—that makes hosting feel effortless. I love pieces that are both fun and functional, whether it’s a conversation-starting coffee table or a built-in banquette that becomes the heart of the room. Every element is an opportunity to reflect how you move, what you love, and where you feel most yourself.
Because at the end of the day, I believe a well-designed home should hold all the layers of a life well lived—quiet rituals, bold moments, and everything in between.
