Flow Yoga Austin: My Go-To Studio for Nervous System Reset & Realignment | Wellness Spotlight | Vol. 1
Many people know my father was a furniture designer and manufacturer in NYC, but fewer know I was actually raised by two entrepreneurs. My mother is a lifelong wellness devotee and IAYT-certified Yoga Therapist who deeply believes in the mind-body connection—and I was her youngest student. She used to call me “the catalyst to her greatest creation,” Yoga 4 Kids, which she founded when I was in elementary school. Thanks to her, yoga has always been more than movement—it’s medicine, grounding, recalibration.
As I’ve grown into my own lifestyle and rhythm, I’ve come to see the body as our first vessel, and the home as its container: a space to rest, move, work, play, and experience joy. Getting out into the community is also a vital slice of the pie of life—and I want to share the places around Austin that help me reconnect with that vessel.
Enter: Flow Yoga
Flow has taken Austin by storm, and for good reason. I’ve been practicing with them for years, and in that time they’ve grown into a multi-location haven for all kinds of bodies and all kinds of energy levels.
🧘♀️ What Makes Flow Yoga Different?
What you won’t find:
Hustle culture. Performative spirituality. Instructors pushing past your limits.
What you will find:
Thoughtful, body-aware sequencing
Teachers who hold space, not just lead it
A calm, earthy aesthetic that doesn’t scream “wellness industrial complex”
Options for every energy level—from slow flow to candlelit yin + sound baths
Whether I need a deep reset or just to move through something gently, Flow always meets me where I am. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t just make you sweat—it helps you soften.
📍 Austin Locations + Extra Magic
I usually practice at the Westgate studio, but they’ve expanded across Austin & the surrounding areas. The Westgate location even has a Third Eye Cacao bar for a post-class ritual and a West China tea house tucked inside—yes, really. It's giving slow living meets sensory ceremony.

✨ Why It Matters
As a designer, I think of the home as a container for rest, work, and play—but our bodies are our first vessel. Studios like Flow support that truth. They remind me that how we move through life is just as important as where.
If you’re in Austin and need a nervous system-friendly reset, I can’t recommend Flow enough. Tell them I sent you—and grab a cacao or tea on the way out. Your body will thank you.
