SABER TRAIL

We designed the main living spaces of this split-level home for a family who regularly hosts large gatherings and wanted room for guests to spread out, dine, and linger in conversation. They asked for color, personality, and an eclectic mix that feels collected rather than styled. The primary living room layers soft neutrals with warm woods, sculptural forms, and curated accents, creating a relaxed yet expressive environment. Vibrant hues add energy without overwhelming the space, resulting in a room that feels composed, inviting, and distinctly personal.

The adjacent dining area continues that rhythm, using natural light, layered materials, and subtle pattern play to create a seamless transition between gathering spaces. Mid-century references and tactile elements support both everyday use and larger moments of entertaining.

On the lower level, a secondary family room was designed as a flexible extension of the home’s hosting strategy. With its naturally lower light, it became the ideal setting for a TV and media space. The room offers a comfortable retreat for movie nights and daily downtime while remaining adaptable for overflow during larger events. Together, the two living areas establish clear spatial roles, balancing social engagement with private comfort.
